Lesly Kahn & Company – Terms & Conditions

I. CLASSES: 
Classes include Intro Work Sessions, Comedy Intensives, Acting Essentials, Technique Clinics, Ongoing Classes, Teen Classes, and Workshops (hereinafter, “Classes”).

1. SECURING YOUR SPOT IN CLASS: 
a. Your spot in a class will only be held once we receive either, your payment in full for the class, OR your deposit (for those classes for which a payment plan is offered). To maintain your spot, all subsequent payments must process successfully and on time.  

With regard to classes for which the option to first pay a deposit and then pay the balance 72 hours prior to the first class is offered, you are bound by the terms of the payment plan once you pay the deposit. If any single payment is not made successfully or if you do not choose to set up the automatic payment for the balance and you neglect to pay the balance on time, you will incur an additional processing fee of $35 for each failed transaction or missed payment. If you fail to make your payments on time, your spot in a class will be released. If your spot in a class is released due to failure to make a payment on time, you will still be responsible for payment according to our cancellation policy below.

b. To sign up for one of our membership plans for More Or Les (“MOL”), you NEED to save a payment option in our system. During checkout, you must check the box that says “Save payment information to my account for future purchases.” When you sign up for a membership plan, you are committing to that designated membership length and paying it off in monthly installments. It is not a membership you can stop and start. If you want that, you need to purchase individual months.  

Monthly memberships are for consecutive months only. Payment plans are billed monthly, so you will make the number of payments consecutively.

No pro-rating of months allowed. For example, if you sign up on the 11th of October, your first month is October 11–31. Your second month begins when November classes begin. 

Note that December & January combined count as one month of class, but our auto billing will bill you in both months. We are tracking the number of payments as well as the months of your membership even though they may not be aligned. 

2. WITHDRAWAL FROM CLASS: 
a. Comedy Intensives, Acting Essentials & Teen Classes 
i. If you find that you will be unable to participate in the Comedy Intensive, Acting Essentials, or Teen Class (hereinafter, “Class”), for which you have purchased a spot, you must notify us of your cancellation in writing via email to classes@leslykahn.com by no later than the 20th of the month immediately preceding the Class start date to receive a full refund. Refunds are provided only until the 20th of the month prior to the Class for which you have signed up.

ii. Should you find it necessary to withdraw from Class after the 20th of the month prior to the Class for which you have signed up, and you notify us of your decision more than one week prior to the Class start date, you will have one calendar year to use that credit towards the cost of another class. If you do not use that credit within one calendar year of the date you withdrew from Class you will forfeit that credit.

iii. Should you find it necessary to withdraw from Class after the 20th of the month prior to the Class start date, and you notify us of your decision less than one week prior to the Class start date, you are not eligible for a refund or a credit.

b. Technique Clinic and Ongoing Classes 
i. If we are unable to place you in a class that meets your availability and/or class preference, you may choose to be placed in queue for the following month or to have your full payment refunded. Refunds and/or credits for Technique Clinic or Ongoing Classes are not provided once your spot in class has been confirmed via the placement process with Lesly and/or the Class Registrar.

3. ABSENT POLICY & MAKEUP CLASSES: 
a. Absences. 
LK&Co. highly discourages missing classes. Not only does it affect the actor missing the class, but it affects the other actors in class. All actors expecting to miss a class must send an email with the following information as soon as possible and at least 60 minutes before the class begins barring an emergency. If you don’t send an email, you don’t get to make-up the class. Send emails to absent@leslykahn.com and include the following information in that email:

1. Full name
2. Class name
3. Date of expected absence
4. Reason for absence

b. Makeup Classes. 
Makeup classes are not guaranteed. There are no makeup classes for The Teen Classes. For The Comedy Intensive, Acting Essentials, Technique Clinics, and Ongoing Classes, we will make every attempt to fulfill makeup class requests, but they are only possible if there is available space in the requested class. If eligible to request a makeup class, and all processes outlined below are followed, makeup classes may be requested only for the month immediately following the missed class.

In order to be eligible for a makeup class you must meet the following requirements. You must:

1. have an excused absence (you must have followed procedures for “Missing Classes” above),
2. be currently enrolled in a class at LK&Co.,
a. for Comedy Intensive or Acting Essentials you must be enrolled in Technique Clinic,
b. for Technique Clinic on Ongoing Classes you must be enrolled in Ongoing Classes,
3. make up the missed class within two months of the absence.

To request a makeup class you must do the following: 

1. send an email to classes@leslykahn.com to place the request,
2. call the office the day before or the day of the class you want to join for to makeup to determine if there is space available,
3. prepare the material assigned to the class in which you are making up (check Kahnservatory for that assignment),
4. for Ongoing Classes, makeup class in the correct group below:

II. COACHING: 
Coaching (hereinafter, “Coaching”), includes Coaching, Tutorials, and Private Intro Work Sessions. “Coaching” refers to both Coaching and Tutorials. Private Intro Work Sessions are also referred to as “Private IWS” or “Private Classes.” 

1. SCHEDULING, CONFIRMING & SECURING APPOINTMENTS: 
At LK&Co. we invest a great deal of time and effort in finding the right coach for each client and project. Many of our coaching requests are made within hours or only one or two days of the requested appointment time. So that we might help as many actors as possible we must enforce strict processes and policies. We appreciate your understanding.

Our process for scheduling, confirming, and guaranteeing appointments is outlined below. 

a. Scheduling your appointment
By purchasing a Coaching session or Private IWS on this site you are making an appointment request. 

At checkout you will be asked to pay in full. This payment is fully refundable up to 24 hours (not including Sundays) before your confirmed appointment time (see B below). Once we receive your order, we will work to secure your requested coach(es) and will send you an email from coach@leslykahn.com with the details for your proposed coaching session. 

Please add coach@leslykahn.com to your contacts so the email messages will reach your inbox and will not be marked as junk/spam.

b. Confirming your appointment
Once we secure your coach we will send you an offer for an appointment from coach@leslykahn.com. You must do the following, within 30 minutes for same-day sessions or by 6 pm if your requested session is not a same-day request, to confirm your session: 

i. Accept the proposed appointment by replying to that email.
ii. Pay in full for the session prior to the stated deadline if you have not done so already.

Your appointment is considered confirmed as soon as we receive your reply to the email in which we have offered you an appointment time or as soon as you purchase the session, whichever comes first. If you do not accept the proposed appointment by taking the necessary action, the appointment will be released.

c. Securing your appointment
Your appointment date and time will be secured once you have both confirmed the appointment by replying to the offer email, and paid your balance in full. Please be prompt in payment so that your appointment time is not released.

2. COACHING, INTRO WORK SESSION & FILM ROOM RENTAL CANCELLATION POLICY: 
Once your appointment has been confirmed, you may cancel or change your Coaching session, Intro Work Session or Film Room Rental (with or without coaching) and receive a full refund of any deposits or payments made toward the session by emailing coach@leslykahn.com anytime up to 24 hours in advance of your session (not including Sundays). In this case, if you are rescheduling your session, you may choose to apply the entire payment towards a rescheduled session.

If you cancel your confirmed appointment or request a different appointment time, and that cancellation or request is made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time (not including Sundays) you will not be eligible for any refund or credit. In this case, if you are rescheduling your session, you are responsible for 100% of the payment for both sessions. If you have confirmed your appointment but have not paid in full prior to the appointment, and you do not attend the confirmed appointment for any reason, you are obligated to pay the entire amount owed for the appointment.

For those appointments confirmed within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time via email to coach@leslykahn.com, you are responsible for 100% of the fee for the session. We are not able to offer any refunds or credits for this appointment. Once you confirm your appointment, you are obligated to pay 100% of the fee whether you attend the appointment or not and whether you have paid for the appointment or not. Until we receive payment for the missed session, you will be unable to book any more coaching appointments.

3. COACHING MATERIALS: 
Your coach will provide materials for Private Intro Work Sessions and for Tutorials. If you would prefer to provide your own materials, please indicate that when you add the session to your cart, and send those materials to sides@leslykahn.com at least 12 hours in advance of your session (not including Sundays). 

For all other coaching you must send all materials to sides@leslykahn.com as soon as possible after confirming your appointment, and at least 12 hours in advance of your session (not including Sundays), if possible. If we do not receive your materials at least 12 hours (not including Sundays) in advance of your appointment, your coach may need to spend time during your session to review your materials. This will shorten the amount of time spent coaching you during the session.

For career counseling, please send any marketing materials and links you deem important to sides@leslykahn.com. This may include:

4. EXTENDING THE LENGTH OF A COACHING SESSION: 

If during a session you find you need more time, and your coach is available you may mutually agree to extend the session. Prices for longer sessions are listed on our website. Please review the pricing prior to extending the session. Once you extend the session you are agreeing to the price posted on the website, and you will receive an invoice for the incremental price for that session via email. Through the act of extending your session, you are agreeing to pay the incremental fee promptly. If your coach is not able to extend the session at that time and you would like to schedule another session, please contact the office at coach@leslykahn.com or simply purchase another coaching session via the website.

Please note that once a coaching session is confirmed and it is within 24 hours of the start time of the session (not including Sundays), you are responsible for payment for the entire session, and no refunds or credits will be given if you decide to end the session early.

5. MORE ABOUT COACHING: 
• Do not contact a Coach or Film Tech directly via their personal phone, text, or email. Allow them privacy and call or email the office for all coaching requests. If you need to contact a coach directly, please email coach@leslykahn.com or call the office, and we will have them contact you.
• Do not ask a Coach for their personal email address or phone number. If you need to contact a Coach, please email coach@leslykahn.com or call the office, and we will have them contact you.
• Do not ask a Coach to coach you at no charge or at a lower rate, as it puts them in an awkward position of having to say no to you.
• Do not ask a Coach to coach you at a different rate than that which is charged by LK&Co.
• You are charged for all coaching sessions with Coaches, even if you are currently or have been in Class with that Coach as a fellow actor.
• Should a Coach be willing to conduct a meeting with you related to your career (i.e., a Career Consultation) over the phone or in other meeting venues (i.e., coffee, tea, meals, drinks), you will be billed for such meetings at the Coach’s regular or overtime Career Counseling Rate.

III. FUTURE SERVICES: 
Payment for coaching and other services is required upon rendering of the service. A reprocessing fee of $35 per check, plus any additional fees incurred by us will be assessed for checks returned unpaid. I understand that I am financially responsible to Lesly Kahn for all charges incurred. I agree to pay Lesly Kahn directly for all services by all current or past Lesly Kahn & Company staff or faculty. If it becomes necessary for my account to be referred to an attorney or outside collection agency for collection or suit due to non-payment, I agree to pay the reasonable agency/attorney fees and collection expense. We reserve the right to terminate a student’s attendance in any class or coaching at any time.

Friday 8:30 am to 8 pm
Saturday 9 am to 5 pm

LK&CO. POLICY REGARDING COVID-19: 
No person is permitted to enter our building located at 1720 N. La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles without being fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Signs posted on all entrances state the following:

“Please do not enter this building unless you have been full vaccinated for COVID-19.

By passing through this door, you are attesting to the fact that you are fully vaccinated for COVID-19. For purposes of this self-attestation, you are considered “fully vaccinated” two weeks after completing the second dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine (e.g., Pfizer or Moderna) or two weeks after receiving a single dose of a one-dose vaccine (e.g., Johnson & Johnson/Janssen). You must be prepared to show your original vaccine card to office staff upon request.

LA County mandates that all those who enter must wear a mask.

Do not enter if you have any of the following symptoms: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.

Do not enter if you have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days or if you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days.”
