Calling all writers! Whether you have a concept to develop, a draft to polish, a pitch to write, or anything in between, you’ll make massive progress on your project and learn an invaluable amount about scriptwriting during The Writers’ Room with Howard March.

Howard March is one of the best script doctors in Hollywood. He’s returning to helm this 6-class series, which will run like a true development department with a full slate of projects of all different genres at various stages of simultaneous development.

“Howard’s greatest asset is understanding story magic and what studios want to spend money acquiring. His experience and knowledge in that area is priceless!”Scriptwriting Masterclass with Howard March, March 2022

Not only will you work on your own project under Howard’s tutelage, but you’ll also read, analyze and provide feedback on your fellow writers’ projects.

In addition to working on specific ideas and scripts, classes will include lectures and discussions of the most important, foundational aspects of scriptwriting, including:

  • classic 3-act story structure,
  • character arc and development,
  • helpful scriptwriting principles and processes, and
  • how to market your script once it’s in great shape.

Writers will receive assignments based on the needs of their specific projects. Each writer’s venture will receive guidance or notes in two class sessions with time in between for revisions.

Wherever you are in your writing journey, Howard will get your project to the next level!

“The rewriting process no longer feels as challenging because I understand the selling points of my story, and thus, what [it is] about my story [that] needs to be clearer and better emphasized in the final draft. This lack of insight had been holding me back for about 6 months, so I am very, very thankful for Howard’s help.” Scriptwriting Masterclass with Howard March, March 2022

“[Howard] was able to clearly see the strengths in my writing and really encourage them, which gave me the confidence to keep going. Of all the feedback I’ve ever gotten on my writing, I trust his the most. His critique of what is not working and why is always right on. [The] scripts [I’ve written] that he consulted on have won multiple awards and placed in some highly respected festivals. I can’t recommend him enough.” — Emily Rued (whose workshop screenplay Good Grief begins filming in July with her in the starring role)
